Ocean Kave is tucked away in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in North Devon. Because of this, we feel we have a responsibility to care for the beautiful landscape bordering our venue. From creating havens for wildlife in the form of natural wildflower meadows to rehoming rescue hens, we feel connected to nature.

Couples looking to celebrate their wedding with us can rest assured that we make a conscious effort to protect the environment – our weddings celebrate nature at every opportunity. From the locally-sourced food lovingly prepared by our chefs to our unique repurposing initiative, we aim to make our weddings as sustainable as possible. For those looking to incorporate further incorporate sustainability into their ceremonies, perhaps through environmentally-friendly decorations or wedding favours, we are more than happy to help.

By choosing Ocean Kave for your intimate wedding celebration, you are already making a greener choice as there won’t be a large group of guests travelling to the venue. Couples can also reduce their carbon footprint by spending their honeymoon at one of our luxurious on-site bridal suites.

Repurposing

Circle of Love

Reducing waste and supporting our local community are two of our core values. With our couples’ permission, we like to make the impact of their magical day go even further through repurposing. Flowers can be donated to local nursing homes and leftover food can be given to our beloved goats!

We know that your guests would love to get you a gift to wish you luck and happiness in your future together. However, if, like many of our happy couples you have already set up your home together, you could ask guests to make a donation in your name to your favourite charity instead.

We are fortunate to live in one of the most beautiful parts of the country, surrounded by quality local producers. From elopements to larger celebrations, every wedding menu is carefully crafted by our head chef and features seasonal, local produce to reduce food miles.
