This was the perfect British Summer wedding, and we were so pleased that Gemma and Rob had chosen our venue to be the backdrop for the couple’s special day.
The couple knew they wanted to get married by the sea on the Devon Coast and a smaller more intimate wedding was exactly what they were looking for.
The summers skies were graced the day with beautiful sunshine which set the scene for the guests to witness the couple take their vows with the breath-taking Atlantic Ocean behind them.
Gemma arrived in style, she was a super cool bride and chose to walk the 600m from her cottage to the ceremony, accompanied by her bridesmaids she wore a beautiful lace embellished gown designed by Martina Liana. We were all really impressed with Gemma’s bridal entrance especially wearing satin heels.
Down at the Kave her handsome groom Rob was anxiously awaiting his bride’s arrival. At 2pm Gemma started her graceful ascent up the aisle on the arm of her father, the couple had chosen to play the Boyce Avenue’s “I can’t help falling in love” to set the scene for their vows.
After a beautiful ceremony the couple and their guests enjoyed a drinks reception on the lawn whilst their photographer Marc Collins and videography Chris Catullo from North Summit Films went to work capturing the couple’s precious memories.
Once the photos were complete the new Mr and Mrs Medley retired to the rustic barn to enjoy a delicious three course wedding breakfast in the company of their family and loved ones (included the four-legged ones).
It was a very special day and we really loved working closely together to personalise the day to suit Gemma and Rob’s vision.
Gemma’s top tip for brides to be –
Don’t stress over the small stuff,on the day it won’t matter. Eat something in the morning and drink plenty of water - simple things but if you don’t remind yourself,it is easy to get carried away with it all. If you are getting married at Ocean Kave, absolutely trust in Kathy,Adrian, and the rest of the team because they really will make the magic happen.
